Spring at the Honeysuckle Hills Wedding Venue

Brides often ask me which month is my favorite at Honeysuckle Hills.  That's too difficult for me to answer, because I love each season for different reasons.  While October is definitely at the top of my list because of the cool weather and fall colors, spring is a close second.  This is the time of year new discoveries are made every single day in our gardens.  It's a time for planting new flower gardens and creating more scenes of interest for our wedding couples.  Our goal is that no matter when you get married at our wedding venue in the Pigeon Forge / Smoky Mountain area, you will be surrounded  by beauty.

After we expanded our pavilion this year, we decided a rock sidewalk would be a nice touch.  The lines and color are inviting to your wedding guests, leading them to a shady shelter in the summer or a place to get out of the rain.  It's a place that encourages family gatherings and conversation.

We've added a multitude of hanging potted plants scattered throughout the grounds.  Yes, it takes me about an hour and a half to water all of them each morning, but it's worth it when I watch our wedding couples smile and enjoy them.

The pavilion has also made an even larger area for guests to enjoy our bride and groom's first dance.  The raised area gives them a better view as you waltz across the dance floor.  If you notice to the left, there is also a wedding arbor so that the pavilion can be used in case it rains.  (We all know that rain is good luck on your wedding day!)

We're not called Honeysuckle Hills without good reason.  We are the original Honeysuckle Hills, founded in 2006 by photographer Regina Starkey.

This particular Honeysuckle vine grows on the horse fence to the right of our wooden and burlap wedding arbor.  This is only one of many areas our wedding couples may choose for their ceremony.  Our venue has more ceremony locations to choose from than any other wedding chapel in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

We've planted zinnias and sunflowers in this flower garden, so be sure to watch for the summer wedding updates!

The yellow water iris is blooming at our little pond and waterfall.  This makes a grand entrance for the wedding procession.

The pink primrose have joined in the spring celebration with the yellow iris.  No wedding would be complete without flowers filling the air with their sweet aroma!

There is ample room for up to 100 guests at Honeysuckle Hills wedding venue.  Our rolling hills in the valley of the Smoky Mountains nestle everyone together to view your outdoor wedding.

Wherever you turn at our wedding venue, a new scene of beauty awaits.  Whether you use the Honeysuckle Hills professional photographer, or choose your own wedding photographer, be sure to give them enough time to capture all your memories.

If woodland chic is on your wedding checklist, our enchanted forest wedding ceremony location is filling in more and more every day.  This image was taken in mid-April, just as the leaves were waking up.  Watch for more images now that this area is truly a dense forest.

From the moment you walk through our doors, we want you to feel welcome.  We are here to guide and direct your wedding ceremony, make your guests feel at home, and do as many of the "chores" as possible so all you have to do is show up and say, "I do."

How to book your Pigeon Forge wedding with a barbecue reception

An outdoor wedding isn't complete without a photograph with an old 1950 Ford!

(Anything over 50 guests we recommend adding additional venue time.)

Everyone loves barbecue, and our local Corky's restaurant will cater your wedding reception.  Their reputation is so good that not only do our brides enjoy their food at their wedding, they usually stop by the restaurant for another hearty meal before leaving town!

If you're a bride who needs a few gluten free options, rest assured the sides can be substituted with corn or spiced apples. Upgrades to items like salad bars and baked potatoes are also available.

Regina's photography includes the flash drive of all your wedding images in full resolution, the copyright release to print on your own, and highlight slideshow perfect for social media shares like the one you see below...

If you're still unsure who to use for your photography, this article will help:

What kind of wedding cake will I receive?

Our Country Style wedding package includes  a wedding cake, and you do have input on what this cake looks like.  You may decide to choose one of the many designs at www.smokymountaincakes.com or our Pinterest board, Cake Ideas for Honeysuckle Hills .  You may prefer to email Regina a picture you've found on another website.  Most of the time our bakery can duplicate it.  You may choose cake flavors such as white, chocolate, marble, or red velvet.  Each wedding cake layer can be a different flavor.

A delicious three tier wedding cake is included in this wedding package.  The bottom layers are large enough to amply feed all your guests, and the top layer is packed up for your anniversary.

Please do bring your own cake topper unless you choose a design with flowers on top.

The burlap wedding cake was last year's favorite design.  You can bring your own cake topper, leave the top bare, or have the bakery put flowers on top.

This year the "naked cake" is all the rave...  This one was upsized for a wedding with 50 guests.  Your $25 fee for guests over 30 covers both extra food and making the wedding cake larger (3 tier)

We have plenty of seating for your guests, plus you have a choice of white or chocolate brown table cloths.  The centerpieces on the tables can also be customized.  Aunt Sharon can add flowers that closely match your own wedding colors.

Aunt Sharon has created beautiful center pieces with a base color of white and cream flowers.  The log slices you see here are also provided.  Should you wish to bring your own centerpieces, there is no charge for us to exchange them on the tables.

Example of the addition of colors that will closely match your own wedding colors

We also have quaint little white lanterns for the table center pieces if you prefer it.

What's new for the 2016 Honeysuckle Hills Wedding Season

In a few short weeks the 2016 Honeysuckle Hills wedding season will be underway!  Aunt Sharon, Uncle Bill and myself have been busy bees, especially during these past few warm winter days.

Here's what's new...

The Parking lot has been DOUBLED in size.  No longer will larger weddings have to ask their guests to park in the horse field.  Everyone should be able to park right next to the barn.

  • We've added gorgeous albums, image boxes, framed portraits, and MORE.  A brochure of all these items will be given to you during your walk through, and you'll also be able to see and touch in our gallery.  For brides who booked weddings that include the disk of images, you may wish to upgrade to one of our lovely albums (which includes the disk of images as a bonus so you can have your cake and eat it, too!)  For newer brides who have booked a wedding with a print credit included, you'll be able to see all the great selections you have to apply that credit toward.  (And of course, if you purchase an album you also get all your digital images along with it, too!)

Aunt Sharon built a curtain rod for the large white wedding arbor at the main ceremony site.  Brides can now choose to have no curtain in the back, a white lace curtain, or a burlap Priscilla curtain.

The pavilion has been expanded.  AGAIN!  We tried so very hard to get approval to build across our pretty creek, but unfortunately it was not possible.  So, we did the next best thing and added an annex up front.  This photograph was taken just as the sun was setting behind our mountain ridge yesterday.

We still have painting to do, plus hang more of the romantic wedding lights.

Come spring, you'll also notice hanging ferns and a cute little corner flower bed between the old section and the new section.

Here's the part I like best about the new expansion of our pavilion.  It's raised, allowing wedding guests a better view of the ceremony.  Your photographer will also appreciate the extra space to move around for the best wedding ceremony photographs!

Now, let's get enchanted...

The Enchanted Forest Wedding Ceremony location has been moved.

Guests will now walk across our arched bridge, behind the pond, and along an old cattle trail in the woods to get to the enchanted forest ceremony site.  Once there, they will find two antique wagon wheels, black lanterns hanging in the trees (with real fire,) and an antique cast iron bell.

The split log fence from was constructed from old fence posts previously used on the farm when my Daddy was still alive and cared for cattle.

There are numerous possibilities here for plants and flowers...  You can expect hostas, dogwood trees, impatiens, and other flowers that thrive in a shady environment.

Keep in mind that you see bare branches in these images.  Once the leaves sprout, our guests will love the feel of being in a true "enchanted forest."

This image shows the path guests will take across the bridge and through the woods to get to the enchanted forest wedding site.

Along the walk, you'll find lanterns burning, marking a charming path through the forest.  Again, keep in mind that once foliage is present, the atmosphere is even more romantic.

Log benches provide a cozy spot to the left between the wagon wheel and the wedding arbor for up to 20 guests.  Don't forget to ring the antique cast iron bell after your first kiss as husband and wife!

Did you know you'll also be able to request that we feed the horses in the field just behind the wedding arbor?  For our horse lovers, this will be an added bonus to the wedding.

Some important facts....
  • Remember you'll be able to choose the ceremony location of your choice during your ten minute walk through on the day before your wedding, so don't stress over trying to decide if this spot is right for you until you visit.  All our ceremony areas look different through the seasons, and Aunt Sharon replaces decorations as needed, too.
  • The enchanted forest area is NOT a good choice for guest counts over 20, or for any guest who has difficulty walking.  It is not accessible to wheel chairs, and it is not a paved trail.  We DO have other ceremony locations more suitable for larger guest counts or guests with special needs.
We hope to fill this area with every enchanted and delightful thing possible to make your wedding unforgettable.  It's truly a unique destination wedding option in the Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountains.

Last, but not least... we have a brand new wedding photography prop!

An upright piano with chandelier hanging above it has been added to the area on our farm previously known as the enchanted forest.  This area takes much longer to walk to, so it was not as popular as a wedding ceremony location.  However, we already know we'll be creating dozens of artistic wedding images and portraits here.

One thing is for certain... It's never dull or boring at Honeysuckle Hills!  It's an adventure with memories to last even past your own life time.  We are constantly dreaming up new ways to make our brides and their families smile.

A Country Charm All-Inclusive Wedding for 50

A Country Charm Wedding

How to Reserve an all-inclusive wedding with reception for 50 guests in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg

I've found that a lot of brides love planning their wedding, at least when it comes to choosing the perfect wedding dress, rings, shoes, and colors.  The adventure of choosing a wedding venue is also a big thrill, especially in the Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountain area.  One would think the enormous variety of wedding venues available here would make the choice difficult.  However, when it comes to the bride who likes open country spaces with a dash of vintage... Honeysuckle Hills wins every time.  And when it comes to the more difficult planning to pull off a destination wedding, our staff makes it a breeze.

Here's what it costs, and what's included:

The Country Charm Wedding Package
The Honeysuckle Hills all-inclusive wedding for 50 guests

  • Five hours of reservation time on wedding day
  • Guests may enter one hour prior to reservation start time (This is also the time we guarantee your privacy and no venue tours or other outside guests will be permitted)

  • A $500 credit at From the Heart Florist (can be removed if you prefer to bring your own flowers, otherwise they'll work with you and deliver your bouquets on wedding day)

$8900 Wed thru Fri with photography
$6700 Wed thru Fri without photography

$9800 Saturdays with photography
$7600 Saturdays without photography

Regina welcomes you to use the photographer of your choice.  If you are unsure who to use, here's a great article to help you decide:  http://honeysucklehills.blogspot.com/2017/01/deciding-who-to-photograph-your-wedding.html

Three hours of wedding photography will cover the most important things like getting ready, the ceremony, family and wedding party, and creative couples images.  Depending on the itinerary chosen, it may also include things like the cake cutting, toasts, and first dances.

Should you wish to add more photography time, you may do so for $750 per hour.  This will also increase your product credit (allowing you to choose a higher end wedding album!)

What can I use my product credit for?

In addition to fine art prints, canvases, and giclees, we have many wedding albums to choose from like the ones you see below.  Albums start at $300.

By keeping the photography in your wedding package, you'll receive the  flash drive of all your wedding images taken that day (even the ones you didn't select for an album or prints with your product credit)  Our albums are of much higher quality than you'll find in retail sources, and you don't have the burden of designing it.

The mouth-watering, delicious food...

Chef Tony deserves all-out praise here, because everyone knows that second to creative wedding photography, the menu is the most important!  This all-inclusive wedding package for 50 guests includes the famous Chef Tony of www.cheftonycatering.com  Should you like a few more close friends to share your happiness, simply add $35 per person.  This increases the food quantity and makes the wedding cake bigger, too.

We've worked with several caterers over our ten year existence, and Chef Tony is by far our catering vendor of choice.  You may not know it, but many caterers don't even let you keep food that is left over.  Not that there's much chance any will be left, mind you, (his selections are absolutely mouth watering!)  But if there is, he will box it up for you as a courtesy so that you may eat the leftovers during your honeymoon.

Chef Tony is always happy to introduce himself and discuss your menu options, so please feel free to inquire with him through his website.  Regina is also happy to make this connection for you, allowing Chef Tony to contact you at your convenience.

**New images coming soon**  Our white chairs have been replaced with new wooden chairs to better match our wedding reception decor

Let them eat cake....

Not only will Chef Tony set up a wedding day spread to delight the hearts and stomachs of all present, he will also design and bake your wedding cake!  If you have no idea what you want, he knows how to please by asking a few simple questions.  If you already have a cake (or two) on your Pinterest board, just send it to him.  He has never let a bride down yet with one of his sugary masterpieces.

Delight the heart with flowers....

www.fromtheheartflorist.net has been part of our wedding family for our full twelve years of existence.  Kelly and Kris have a syrupy sweet way of speaking their way into your heart, and that's why we provide a $500 credit in our Country Charm wedding package so that they can create your wedding bouquets, corsages, and more.  They'll even deliver on wedding day, and Regina will be sure your colorful accents are waiting for you in your dressing room.  We'll even pin up all the boys and make sure the mothers and grandmothers proudly wear their decorations, too.

We prefer the floral credit, because some brides like daisies and some like orchids.  It's completely up to you how you spend your credit with From the Heart Florist.  If for some reason you do not need this service, the credit can be removed from your package price.  If for some reason you go over your credit with From the Heart, they will bill you for the difference in price.

Dance, Baby, Dance!

Our pavilion has ample space not only for the talented team at www.knoxvegasdjs.com but it may also be used for a rain plan.  We have plenty of benches to spread out for your guests to view the ceremony should you have the good luck of rain on your wedding day.

Scott, the team leader at Knox Vegas DJ's has an on-line planner we'll share with you to choose all your announcements, ceremony, and dance music.  Most brides find his website super easy to plan their wedding day music, but if you have no clue where to start we'll set up a phone or in-person consultation with Scott for you.

The Southeast's Best Photographer is right here...

Remember, if you'd like the images as seen on our website, www.honeysucklehills.com, Regina can be added by the hour.  Consider at least an hour of her creative imagery to make your wedding day complete and the memories timeless.  Our photographer is required for wedding photographs with our horses.
