How to Determine the amount of time you will need
An hour is sufficient if:
- Your guest count is 25 or less.
- You are not hiring a professional photographer
- Your family and friends will be taking their own snapshots of your wedding
- You are using one of the Honeysuckle Hill's ministers and not your own
- You have no intention of having a reception of any kind
An hour and a half is recommended if:
- Your guest count is 25 or less
- You are hiring a professional photographer of your choice or the Honeysuckle Hills photographer
- You are using your own minister (extra time recommended in this case because they know you personally and deliver a longer ceremony)
- You have no intention of having a reception of any kind
- You have guests not following each other and coming from different areas (This gives you a little wiggle room in case some arrive late)
Two hours is recommended if:
- You have a guest count of 25 to 40
- You are hiring a professional photographer of your choice or the Honeysuckle Hills photographer and want the maximum time for the variety our venue has available
- You are using either the Honeysuckle Hills minister or your own
- You wish to either bring wedding cake, or purchase wedding cake from us
Three to four hours is recommended if:
- You have a guest count of 25 to 50 (Four hours for guest counts of 50 to 75)
- You are hiring a professional photographer of your choice or the Honeysuckle Hills photographer and want the maximum time for the variety our venue has available
- You are using either the Honeysuckle Hills minister or your own
- You wish to use the reception area downstairs for a meal
- Professional food vendors are required. We welcome you to choose this vendor on your own, but we do not recommend bringing in your own food. We do not have a kitchen and our staff does not assist with set up, serving, or clean up.
The Day Rate is recommended if:
- You have a guest count of 75 to 100
- You wish to have access to our grounds whenever you like (Otherwise guests must wait in their cars until your entry time begins)
- You would like the convenience of doing your hair and make-up at your wedding venue
- You are having a full wedding celebration with catering, a bartender, and a DJ for dancing
The average ceremony process takes twenty minutes when using our minister. This accounts for the time it takes to seat your guests, line up the wedding party, walk down the aisle, the ceremony vows, and the receiving line afterward (when your guests congratulate you with hugs and kisses.) A thirty minute head start entry time is allowed prior to your reservation start time so that you may get dressed and be ready for your wedding ceremony.
The average ceremony process when using your own minister is thirty minutes, sometimes longer. Even if you ask your minister to keep it short, please realize this is difficult for them to do when they know you so well and love you so much. I consider it a blessing when brides use their own minister because the ceremony is more heart-felt. However, please account a little extra time so that you will not be rushed. Trust me.
The time left after the ceremony is the time you have available for your photographer or ours to create your beautiful memories. Our venue abounds with heart-stopping scenery. Every square inch was designed from a professional photographer's viewpoint.
The time you have left after the ceremony is also the time available for reception, dancing, socializing, and enjoying our little piece of heaven on earth.
The average time needed with a professional photographer for family portraits is 15 minutes. Each grouping takes approximately two minutes to gather, pose, and photograph. A large group portrait takes about five to seven minutes to arrange properly and photograph. If family and friends are taking snapshots, this time is significantly reduced because no light readings or attention to body heights, sizing, or other details is necessary.
